KP Astrology vs Traditional Vedic Astrology

KP Astrology is not a replacement for Vedic astrology - it shares the same planets, houses and zodiac framework. The difference lies mainly in emphasis and technique, particularly the use of the Sub-Lord as a further layer of interpretation.

Where the approaches tend to differ

Traditional Vedic astrology often provides a broad interpretation of personality, life tendencies and general themes across a birth chart. KP practitioners frequently apply their technique toward more focused, specific questions and toward examining possible timing for particular events.

Neither approach is presented here as more valid than the other. Many practitioners use elements of both. The choice of method often comes down to what the client wants: a broad life reading, or a structured look at one specific question.
